Hape has acquired the entire shareholding of leading UK toy distributor Marbel Toys.
The deal represents the latest stage in the expansion of Hape Toys following their success in Asian, American and European markets.
(London, UK) 4th July 2017, Hape Group announced acquisition of Marbel Toys, the leading UK toy distributor.
The acquisition enables Hape to continue long-standing relationships within the toy market and invest to make Marbel and its brands market leaders and increase their market share in the UK and Irish markets. “This acquisition represents the latest stage and continued expansion for Hape and further demonstrates our belief that Marbel is a leading toy distributor.” Peter Handstein, CEO and Founder of Hape Group said so.
Christoph Bettin, Managing Director of Marbel Toys said “Peter and I believe this deal represents a great result for our staff and customers. Christoph Bettin will remain Managing Director of Marbel, in addition he has been appointed Hape Global Marketing Director. Bettin will have a team surrounding him who will work closely on the day-to-day running of Marbel to ensure the acquisition is a complete success.

Marbel Toys was formed in 2002 and distributes numerous leading international toy brands into the UK and Irish markets.
