(Mücke, Germany) On 8th September 2016, Hape signed an official license agreement with Volkswagen. Hape is granted to design and manufacture wooden baby walkers in the shape of the Volkswagen Type 2(T1) (model year 1950-1967) and the Volkswagen Beetle (model year 1949-1985).
The licensed prototype Volkswagen Type 2(T1) and Volkswagen Beetle walkers are Kombis and rear-wheel-drive cars respectively, based on cars produced in the 1950s. Both models symbolise culture and industry, and span generations. The T1 is known as the “Forerunner of Modern Cargo” and the “Hippy Wagon”, and the Beetle is one of the best sellers in world vehicle history.
Hape’s Classical Bus T1 Walker and Beetle Walker (both in red and blue) have been on the global market since February 2017, aiming to provide a classic vintage walker experience for babies of 10 months and above.
